Environment

GWAVA 4, 4.5 (all builds) NetWare (all builds)

Situation

I have a GWAVA: Disk I/O Error on my NetWare Logger Screen, what do I need to do to fix it?

Resolution

If you have an error on your NetWare logger screen that says "GWAVA: Disk I/O error; db" it is likely that you have some corruption in your qms_data.db.  This is an easy fix.  You will need to run a rebuild on the QMS database.

  • Before you run the rebuild on your QMS database take a note of the exact error that you are seeing on the logger screen, including the short description and long description.
  • Before you run the rebuild take not of any error files in the .../gwava4/services/qms/data/err directory.  If there are files in that directory take note to the name. If you have current files in there that start with user or digest you should call support.  If the files only start with "data" then simply run the QMS rebuild.
