Situation
The purpose of this document is to provide step-by-step instruction on how to install a Redline Agent on the appliance version of GWAVA 4.
Resolution
- Create a Redline user account in GWAVA 4 for the Redline Agent to access.
- Copy the redline rpm from the suse.linux10 directory of the Redline download, to the Appliance server.
- Open a terminal to the GWAVA 4 server and type yast.
- Using the search dialog in Software Management, locate and install the following packages-
- atk 1.10.3
- gdk-pixbuf 0.22.0
- gtk2 2.8.11
The following will be selected automatically-
- -auto- Mesa 6.4.2
- -auto- cairo 1.0.2
- -auto- glitz 0.4.4
- -auto- gtk 1.2.10
- -auto- libdrm 2.0
- -auto- openmotif-libs 2.2.4
- -auto- pango 1.10.2
- Install the Redline rpm. From the terminal in the directory of the redline rpm, type rpm -Uv redline-3.1.0-1.i586.rpm
- Remove the Control Center from auto-startup. From the terminal, type chkconfig -del rlcenter
- Start Redline Agent. /etc/init.d/rlagent start
- Check that the Redline Agent has registered with the Control Center.
- For Redline 3.5, go to the manage page of the appliance Redline Agent and add the GWAVA 4/5 Agent. GWAVA agent should show in System View within 2-4 minutes.
- For Redline 3.1, open the /opt/beginfinite/redline/conf/rlagent.conf
- Delete "NEWINSTALL" under the [Global] section
- Configure [CCenter1] section with details and address of your Control Center
- Remove or disable all other sections except - [GLOBAL], [CCENTER1], [GWAVA], [REDLINE], and [HOST].
- IMPORTANT! Change the [GWAVA] header to [GW4V4].
- Enable and modify the [GW4V4] section with the appliance IP, newly created user/password (see step 1), and set port to 49282.
- Save the file.
- Restart the Redline Agent /etc/init.d/rlagent restart.
