Post Multiple RLAgents in a Linux Cluster
Hi!

How do i start multiple agents on the same host?
The rlagent.conf has no setup for the IP-Address and the documentation also does not mention running multiple agents on a linux host.

Running a single rlagent for a cluster resource is simple, but what about if several different cluster resources failover to the same host?

simply create another rlagent.conf file. I would create a directory for conf files and place a conf file on each resource. Then when the resources move from node to node, just reference the conf file. Example. (-c indicates the configuration file location)

/opt/beginfinite/redline/bin/rlagent -c /resource1/redline/conf/rlagent.conf

/opt/beginfinite/redline/bin/rlagent -c /resource2/redline/conf/rlagent.conf

But this is little bit againts your knowledgebase, there should I move whole Redline installation directory to cluster resource volume. Even your config solves nothing besides IP address conflict, gfritsch said, that in documentation isnĀ“t anything about setting of IP address of Redline agent in config file.

This is not against the knowledgebase. There are a couple of different ways to setup a cluster. This specific method is for users who have moved the entire Redline system to a resource. In Linux this is the best method. We have a knowledgebase article that is newer than Redline documentation. Using that article, you should be able setup Redline on each node. Multiple Redline agents can run on each cluster without a problem. They do not need to bind to an IP address like the Control Center does.
