Post Menu rebuild problem after upgrading to version 28 (gwava 5)
hello,
I have two gwava servers on linux. They were working fine with version 27. I updated them via the usual update interface to the new version. It seems it went fine for one (the master) and due to a firewall blocking, I had to re-launch on the second server : first time it was showing as finished although nothing had changed . As I couldn't re-do the updates, I used the "system management" - diagnostic/repair - reset updates for that server and then the download, installation went fine. Both are showing the same version in the history (28)
but....

When I try the Menu rebuild as requested (after restarting gwava on both servers), then I get a warning that one or more servers are incompatible with the menu, please update and restart, etc.. etc...
There is also a note that " if I wish " I can force the menu rebuild, but....
Could you please advise ?
Thank you

If you go to the online updates page, at the bottom you will see Version Information. On Both servers, check to see if they are reporting the same numbers as the updated version. If they do not then we need to get the server that is not updated, up to date. You can reset the version numbers on the server that is behind following the same steps you did before. If you have to reset the version then I would reset both the online updates and the program versions and then perform another update. This will ensure that you get the latest GWAVA5 update. You should then be able to rebuild the menus once the servers match.

If they still dont match after this then let us know.

Both servers were showing the same version in history (28).
So I did a " version reset" and re-installed the updates on both (which finished without error and the same number of packages (71) installed). Restarted gwava services only (not the physical server because in production...).
but the problem still remains.
In the "version information" on the "online update" page, there are two things (but on both servers !) which were not updated : asengine and autoblkr are still in version 50 (while it shows 51 as the latest release).

In gwavaupd log, strangely in the log of one server (the qms master) it is showing all the download procedure (not on the other one !) and it contains this :
(...)
11:11:12 Decompressing package REDLINE
[2r5tirg][2] APR-20 11:11:12 Packages decompressed

[2r42arg][2] APR-20 11:25:27 Update manager started
(end)

Any idea ?
for info : both Gwava are installed on suse linux with gwia 802 hp2 (or 3, can't remember...) and were working fine before this update !

11:25:25 20-Apr-2012 / 127.0.0.1 GWVSTATS gwvstats/linux 5.00/build 4 (release) Beginfinite Inc. GWAVA statistics server
11:25:25 20-Apr-2012 / 127.0.0.1 AUTOBLOCKER autoblkr/linux 4.00/build 50 (release) Beginfinite Inc. Autoblocker for GWAVA
11:25:25 20-Apr-2012 / 127.0.0.1 GWAVAUPD gwavaupd/linux 5.00/build 40 (release) Beginfinite Inc. GWAVA online updater

At this point it will be best if you can call in to support so we can look at the system.

Support helped to solve the problem : previous old gwava server (which had been removed from our network a long time ago) still having some "leftovers" in gwava, which of course were not updated. The Removal of these "old bits" solved the problem. Very good support and very fast !
thanks !
