Post Create a monthly portable backup
Hi,

with Reload 3, you can create weekly portable backups and create tar files of them in order to save them off of Reload for long term backup.
Since most companies run a daily/weekly/monthly backup strategy, it would be nice if we could copy this strategy into Reload.

Until now, we have to backup 4-5 tar files for each profile (the weekly portable backups) in order to be sure that all GW items are backup up. However, this creates a huge overload, because the changes between the weekly backups aren't that big.

It would be nice if Reload would be able to merge the weekly portable backups to one monthly portable backup which could be backed up off of the Reload server. So we only have one tar file per profile which is much smaller than all weekly tar files together.

Thanks, Peter

Each weekly portable has a copy of the blobs which the majority of the size of each portable. If a monthly portable were created, which would be 24 daily backups and one copy of the blobs. This would take up less space but would require 4 weeks to be kept on disk.

I will talk to development about this option.
